Everyone is welcome to attend our 9th Annual Birthday Party. There will be a chicken feed at no cost while supplies last (10am-3pm) . Live music by “High Card” a local band with a classic rock, county and blues playlist(12-3pm). Ride or drive in to come join in on the fun times at Rice Lake Harley-Davidson. This will be a rain or shine event. If it does rain, the event will be inside our shop. If it’s nice outside that day, we will have the party outside by the river! May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness month

The month of May is Motorcycle awareness month. The National Highway Safety Administration and other organizations are promoting safe driving for both motorcycle riders and other motorists on the road. There are several news and organizational web sites providing lots of information.

The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments gives these recommendations:

Motorists
Always allow a motorcyclist the full lane width – never try to share a lane;
Always make a visual check for motorcycles by checking mirrors and blind spots before entering or leaving a lane of traffic and at intersections;
Allow more following distance, don’t tailgate.

Motorcyclists
Always wear brightly colored protective gear and a DOT-compliant helmet;
Position your motorcycle in the lane where you will be out of a motorist’s blind spot;
Use turn signals for every turn or lane change;
Obey all the traffic laws and follow the speed limit;
Avoid riding in poor weather conditions, at night and at dawn/dusk;
Avoid riding between lanes of slow moving or stopped traffic.
